Head Teacher Opening

The Children’s Learning Center is looking for a dynamic, energetic, patient, fun and organized individual to work with children in our Head Start program which serves ages 3-5. The position is a Head Teacher in the classroom responsible for lesson plans, observations, managing teacher assistants, meeting with families, and setting individual goals for each child. The position is a full time at 40 hours a week position running mid-August through May with winter and spring breaks. The position offers benefits that include health insurance for the individual, vacation and sick leave, retirement benefits after successful completion of probationary period. The position requires a minimum of an AA in Early Childhood or equivalent or higher. Enrollment in Criminal Background Registry required prior to enrollment. First Aid, CPR, and Food Handlers must be obtained within 30 days of employment. Pay is determined by experience and degree.

Fiscal Clerk Opening

The Children’s Learning Center in Madras, Oregon is looking for a dynamic, energetic, patient and organized individual to work with fiscal operations within the organization. The program serves approximately 150 children and 35 staff. The person will process payroll, credit card entries, and bank reconciliations while providing monthly reports for the Board of Directors and Policy Council. Additional job duties will be assigned as needed to fulfill fiscal requirements such as working with auditors and budgets for grants. Job will include developing. analyzing, and explaining fiscal reports. Position is part-time. Hours per week will be determined by workload but are predicted to be 15-25 hours per week. Position will require approx. 2 evening meetings a month. The position requires a minimum of a AA in Accounting or equivalent. One year of experience in a fiscal role and knowledge of GAAP regulations. Enrollment in Central Background Registry required prior to employment. Pay is determined by expierence and degree.

Part-Time/On-Call Child Care Teacher Opening

The Children’s Learning Center is looking for a motivated, creative, energetic, team player to work with children ages 6 weeks to 5. This person needs to be flexible with their schedule, and be able to manage a classroom of 10 children by themselves. Staff member is responsible for lesson plans using Creative Curriculum, Conscious Discipline, and other developmentally appropriate activities. The center follows Office of Child Care regulations and is a licensed facility. Physical and mental requirements may include sitting in child size chairs, kneeling, and bending to child’s level. Staff member may also lift or move heavy and/or bulky objects or children weighing up to 50 pounds. Staff member may have to respond to emergency scenarios and use their senses to maintain safety of the environment and children. The position is a part-time/on-call non-exempt position. There is a 6 month introductory period. Position does not have benefits at this time. Hours expected are 10-20 hours a week with a possibility of more. Training for position and ongoing professional development are required. Experience working with children ages 0-5 in a professional setting or degree with credits in Early Childhood needed. Enrollment in the Criminal Background Registry required prior to employment. First Aid, CPR, and Food Handlers must be obtained within 60 days of employment. Pay is determined by experience and degree.

  Bus Aide Opening

The Children’s Learning Center is looking for an entry-level part time transportation aide. The person is responsible for helping transport children to and from the center. Observe and monitor behavior of children, interact with parents and staff to promote the well being of children. Follow all safety rules and regulations including all policies and procedures of TCLC. This position is a part time-split shift. The hours are 7:15-8:15, 11:15-1:15, 4:15-5:30. Hours could vary based on routes. Other hours may be available in classroom based on needs of the program and qualifications of applicant. The position runs mid-August through May with winter and spring breaks off. High school diploma required.  Enrollment in Criminal Background Registry required prior to enrollment.  First Aid, CPR, and Food Handlers must be obtained within 30 days of employment.  Pay starts at minimum wage.

Early Head Start Teacher Opening

The Children’s Learning Center is looking for a dynamic, energetic, patient, fun and organized individual to work with children in our Early Head Start program, which serves ages 6 weeks to 3 years. The position is a teacher who is responsible for lesson plans, observations, setting individual goals for students, and working with other team members to provide a safe, educational, and fun learning environment. The position is full-time at 40 hours a week position running approximately 50 weeks a year.  The position offers benefits that include health insurance for individual, vacation and sick leave, and retirement benefits after successful completion of probationary period. Educational requirements require a CDA in Infant/Toddler or Associate in Early Childhood.  Enrollment in Central Background Registry required prior to enrollment.  First Aid, CPR, and Food Handlers must be obtained within 90 days of employment.  Pay is determined by experience and degree.
