TCLC has adopted the social/emotional curriculum Conscious Discipline, by Dr. Becky Bailey. This curriculum is designed to teach our students positive behavioral strategies and self-regulation techniques. The curriculum’s goal is to develop self-control, positive social skills, and strengthen self-esteem. These skills will help to improve classroom experiences and at home interactions; leading to greater success in lifelong learning.

In conjunction with this curriculum, we will also be offering the Conscious Discipline Parent Education Curriculum. As your child’s primary supporter and educator it is important that you engage in their daily learning. We hope you participate in this curriculum and that it helps support you with consistent home/school behavioral strategies and home learning.

Training will include expert advice and instruction on parent-child interaction, and resources and materials to support ongoing practice. Most importantly… dinner and childcare will be provided!

Baby, It’s getting cold outside!

Please be aware that it is getting colder outside and dress your child appropriately for the weather conditions. Students will participate in an outdoor recess, for 30 minutes, everyday unless it is colder than 35 ͦ or raining/snowing.  A sweater is not sufficient to keep children warm for this duration of time. If your child does not have a winter coat and you need assistance to purchase one please contact TCLC and we will help you.

The Giving Tree

The Giving Tree gives back. Many families have needs that we would love to help but we can’t always. For this reason we are starting a Giving Tree. Each leaf represents an item that a family needs. Please consider taking a leaf and donating the necessary item to the center to be passed out to local families.
